Hello. My name is Kimberley (Kim) Kaftan. I grew up in a rural town in Saskatchewan, Canada. After finishing my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology at Minot State University in November, 1991, I joined the staff at Bear Paw Cooperative. At the time, there was only one other full time speech pathologist on staff. I traveled in my own car, about 1000 miles a month and supervised at least six speech pathology paras! At that time, I planned on staying in Montana two school years. Well, God had other plans! In the fall of 1992, time I met a handsome Montana guy, Alan, and I stayed. Wanting to travel less and begin a family, in the fall of 1993, I began employment with Havre Public Schools. During this time period, Alan and I were blessed with three awesome “kids”- two boys and a girl. As the empty nest approached, in the spring of 2016, I became restless and sought employment, with Northern Montana Hospital. While I enjoyed working with the people of all kinds with numerous communication impairments, I missed working with children. So, when an opportunity came for me to return to the Bear Paw Cooperative, I was thankful for the open door . I’ m very grateful to be working with children again ! Also, I love our Bear Paw staff!
